MY LIFE COULD BE DESTROYED BY IMPENDING RISK OF ABUSE
As of Oct 23, $1204 must be raised by midnight TOMORROW (ET) for carers to attend during a high-risk hospital admission
Without them, I’ll be isolated in an environment where I faced HORRIFIC institutional abuse for my disability.
I’m completely bedbound with CRPS [Medical reports] and need a private carer during a necessary admission to ensure safety & provide the complex care I need, e.g. bed baths. Otherwise, there’s dire risk that I could be abused again for having high needs, leading to far worse impairments like severe memory loss and loss of my limited independence.
During two 2013 admissions, I was pushed upright by doctors, leading to drastic deterioration. Twice, hospitals refused to let me leave their abusive environment, unless I walked around the ward painfully, to prove that I ‘recovered’ from their ‘treatment’. On another occasion, 3 security guards together threatened me with physical violence. To prevent similar abuse, $1204 must be raised for outstanding care bills + for disposable bed protectors etc. by end of Oct 24
